Writing Groups and Writing Retreats

Project PACE recognizes that departmental cooperation and collaboration are important parts of faculty satisfaction and encourage faculty retention; therefore, the Mentoring component of PACE encourages the formation of Writing Groups.  A Writing Group is composed of junior and senior science faculty (at least one of each being female) who gather to provide one another with the opportunity for mentor-style relationships.  Relationships formed through such groups allow faculty to assist each other with scientific research and writing.  To support departmental Writing Groups, Project PACE will fund half of a department's two- or three-day writing retreat.
